PM Jacinda Ardern confirms Niue-New Zealand travel bubble 'soon' Niue and New Zealand may have a travel bubble soon, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has confirmed. The news comes after the Premier of Niue, Dalton Tagelagi, confirmed there have been  discussions  between his government and New Zealand on quarantine-free travel. On Saturday, Ardern confirmed she had a good conversation with Tagelagi last week and believed they were making good progress on a travel-bubble soon. . . Ardern said Pacific countries like Niue and Cook Islands have the same criteria as New Zealand when considering travel bubbles, and a period free of community transmissions was very important. New Zealand anticipated border cases and was constantly prepared for it, she said. “It’s fair to say, and you will see the communication from Niue, they are really happy with the progress and regime New Zealand is running. “But of course there are things that we're still working through. "I'm a republican, A conservative republican. But Donald Trump is an embarrassment to our party, to our country and the rest of the world" But with Donald Trump as its national leader, Fasano said, the party has lost its way. On Thursday, as Trump arrived in Tampa for an election rally, Fasano took to social media to offer his support for Democrat Joe Biden. Mike Fasano has identified with the Republican Party since he turned 18 and could cast a vote for Ronald Reagan. He carried the party banner as majority leader in the Florida House and president pro tempore of the Florida Senate. He’s still Pasco County’s elected Republican tax collector, first appointed by former governor Rick Scott. But with Donald Trump as its national leader, Fasano said, the party has lost its way. National and ACT 'irrelevant' to Parliament as Greens accept a post-election deal

National and ACT 'irrelevant' to Parliament as Greens accept a post-election deal National and ACT have become "vanishingly irrelevant" in Parliament following the Greens' acceptance of the cooperation agreement offered by Labour, a politics professor believes. The deal has locked in a political arrangement that will see Labour and the Greens "monster the Parliament" for the next three years, according to Massey University's Richard Shaw, with a combined 74 of 120 seats held by the parties. Labour's landslide victory earlier this month saw the party secure its second term - and the power to govern alone without the need for a coalition. However, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern revealed on Saturday that she has offered the Greens  two ministerial positions in a post-election deal  despite Labour winning the majority - which the Greens accepted in a lengthy conference call last night. . . According to the agreement, the Greens will support the

Green Party votes to be part of next Government with Labour

Green Party votes to be part of next Government with Labour Green Party members have voted to be part of the next Government. Stuff  understands the agreement was carried by 85 per cent of delegates – an overwhelming majority, however the number of votes opposed is an increase on the 2017 confidence and supply agreement vote when just three delegates opposed. Under the deal, the Green Party co-leaders will become ministers outside of Cabinet in a deal offered to them by the Labour Party. James Shaw will remain as Minister for Climate Change and will be Associate Environment Minister, while Marama Davidson will be the Minister for the Prevention of Family and Sexual Violence, a new role that will build on the under-secretary role Jan Logie had during the last term, and Associate Minister of Housing with a focus on homelessness. . . Davidson said the Greens were “thrilled”. “The Green Party is thrilled to enter into this governing arrangement with Labour, after three years of a co

Poll: Most Americans disapprove of Trump's decision to hold massive campaign rallies during COVID-19 pandemic WASHINGTON – It's the most stark stylistic difference between President Donald Trump and Joe Biden: The incumbent has surrounded himself with thousands of supporters at dozens of rallies while the Democratic challenger is literally keeping his distance. But as Trump and Biden embrace strikingly different approaches to campaigning during the coronavirus pandemic, a new USA TODAY/Suffolk University poll finds that nearly two-thirds of likely voters  prefer Biden’s low-key strategy  to Trump's raucous fanfare. Nearly six in 10 Americans disapprove of Trump's decision to continue to hold large rallies during the pandemic, according to the poll, while nearly 64% approve of Biden's decision to jettison big events in favor of much smaller gatherings.  . . Trump has held more than two dozen rallies since recovering from his own bout with COVID-19 this month –
